YOU´RE ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS

Finally. They’re finally home. Every eye on bridge is admiring the beautiful blue planet called Earth. Tom Paris is completely speechless. He is remembering every year, every difficult mission, every happy moment he lived on this chip. He turned to see his captain. Kathryn Janeway has tears in her eyes. But she has a big smile on her face. Tom suddenly realizes that he had never seen such happiness on her face. His fist officer is staring at his Captain and he has sparkling eyes. Janeway turn to her XO and hold his hand.

“We did it” Kathryn whisper

“No, Kathryn, you did it” Chakotay says and turn to Janeway.

Tom feels something. He knows what’s going to happened. The first officer is knelling down.

‘Oh my God. It’s really happening’ Tom thought.

“Paris to Torres”

“Torres here. Oh my God Tom, am I dreaming?? Are we finally home?”

“Yes, but... You’re not going to believe this...”

“What??” Torres feels there’s something very strange on her husband's voice.

Kathryn is staring at her first officers eyes, who is trebling and holding her hand. She knows what he has in mind. She clearly sees now what he had tried to hied on their long journey, but not for a single moment she had doubted it: his love for her. Kathryn put her other hand on her mouth. She’s crying freely now.

“What’s happening Tom????”

“I think Chakotay is going to propose to the Captain.”

“Oh, my God !!!!!”

“Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Wait B’Ela. I think he’s going to say something”

“I have been waiting 7 years for this moment... “ Chakotay  begins to speak.

“What’s he’s saying, for Christ sake???”

“Shhhhhhhhh”

“...Kathryn... I have been in love with you since I saw your face on my screen. For that moment I realize that there was a reason why we had been thrown to the Delta Quadrant. I had to meet the love of my life, my soul mate...”

“Tom!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please say something. We’re nervous here!!!!!”

“We?”

“Well, let’s say that me and the hole engineering is waiting for you ANSWER!!!!!!!!”

Tom is grinning. He can picture the curiosity on every single person's face on engineering, including on his wife’s.

“He’s saying that he loves her for the moment he saw her on the screen, that she’s his soul mate... This kind of stuff...”

“Big news...We knew that!!! But that’s cute anyway... What more?”

“...I tried to say how much I loved you on New Earth with the Angry warrior speech...”

“Aha!!! I knew that!!!”

“Knew what???? Tom !!!!!!!!”

“Shhhhhhhhhhhhh”

“... but I knew you were not prepared... I knew you would say that we couldn’t... I knew I had to wait until we got home to ask you...”

“ I think he’s going to say now, B’Ella...”

“... Kathryn Elizabeth Janeway, will you marry me????”

“Tom!!!!!”

“He has just proposed...”

“What’s her answer???”

Tom is studying his Captain face. She’s smiling broadly. She’s pulling her XO to his feet now. She is holding both his hand on hers. He can notice that Chakotay has some tears on his face. Tom begins to wonder if he had been so vulnerable when he proposed to B’Elanna. Probably yes...

“Yes, Chakotay. Yes, of course...”

Chakotay is smiling and crying. He pulls Kathryn into a big hug.

“I love you so much Kathryn...”

“I love you too, Chakotay.”

Tom notice that the Commanding officers are not the only ones who are crying on the bridge. Harry and Sam are clearly touched with the moment. Sam’s wiping her eyes from the tears that are falling. Tom notice that even Tuvok has a different face. His eyebrow had never moved like that.

‘Maybe that’s the way that vulcans express their happiness’ Tom thought

“Tom!!!!!!! I’m going to have a heart attack!!!”

“Of course she said yes B’Elanna!”

Tom can hear the cheers and whistles on engineering. He’s thrilled with the crew happiness. He knew that everybody wanted to see the Captain and Chakotay together.

“Wait... Oh my God...”

“ NOW WHAT???”

“He’s kissing her !!!”

“Oh, no... I don’t believe that I missed that... Their first kiss!!!! I’m so happy for them...What a special day!!”

“What a special day indeed, B’Ela. We’re finally home, The Captain and Chakotay are finally together and I finally win the beating pool. Three months of rations!!”

Tom is so moved with the moment that he almost didn’t hear Tuvok speaking to Janeway.

‘This Vulcan has the worst timing...’ Tom thought

“Captain, Admiral Williams is hailing us”

Chakotay and Kathryn finally break their kiss, but they’re still hugging each other. He could write a book based only on the expressions on their faces. He notice that his captain is still crying, but she’s also saying something.

“Tuvok, tell them to wait. I could wait 7 years for this moment so they can wait for 5 minutes.”

‘That’s my captain’ Tom thought
